Lots of people suffer with migraines, and it is a horrible feeling to have!  A migraine is like a really strong headache, which can affect vision and the senses. Many people experience different symptoms when they get a migraine, but here are some basic ideas to help you manage the pain.

Begin by making sure you are well hydrated. Water is essential to our bodies, so drink plenty of water throughout the day. Aim for around 1.5-2 litres!

If you feel a migraine coming on, try to get rested. If you are at work, see if you can go have a quiet sit in a dark room, or have a lie down if possible. This can make a big difference.

Every morning, start the day with a big glass of water. This will help to flush out your system after sleeping all night, plus help wake you up.  If you prefer, why not add some slices of lemon or lime to your water to add flavour?

Take a litre bottle of water with you to work and sip on it throughout the morning.  When you finish it, simply refill it and continue to sip throughout the rest of the day – this is an easy way to make sure you drink the recommended two liters each day!
